Mulwith, Loreto College
Location: Cavendish Road, Coorparoo
Client: Loreto College
The Mulwith building at Loreto College Coorparoo consists of a basement level or car parking, storage for art materials, rainwater harvesting facilities and a lift which allows full access to all floors for the disabled. On the ground floor are three learning areas for art. The first floor has two general learning areas and two specialist rooms for learning.
There are staff facilities on both the ground floor and first floor. The top floor has three general learning areas with the ability to be opened up to one large space for functions and meetings which will take advantage of the magnificent views towards the Brisbane City skyline.
An important element in the project is a steel screen that has the multiple uses of providing sun shading to the west, safety for students and an engaging presence in its context. The building adopts a world class approach to Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD), without compromising the indoor climate and overall project budget.
