We’re delighted that our design for the #Australian Pavilion, Expo 2020, Dubai, has been recognised in the Public Architecture category at the #2022 International Architecture Awards, @AustralianInstituteofArchitects.

We were the only Queensland architecture practice to be commended, and only one of four entries worldwide to be credited for design excellence.

From the outset, our fantastic client @Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade enthusiastically embraced our concept of representing the cumulus cloud (a symbol of blue sky dreaming and infinite opportunity) as an abstracted canopy over the Pavilion’s open forecourt.

We thank DFAT, Australia’s Commissioner-General to Expo 2020 Dubai, Justin McGowan and our many collaborators for supporting our design vision. A special shout-out to our fellow Queensland creative partners @UAP, @dotdash, and theola.
