Newstead Series has been published in Materiality 2021 – the tremendous tome dedicated to brick and block in contemporary architecture. Great to be included, thank you @brickworksbp !

“The defining element of the architecture is the blockwork screen, conceived as a fabric wrapping the townhomes. On this screen alabaster concrete blocks are rotated and placed to from a loose-weave pattern. The structure serves as an acoustic barrier, solar buffer and privacy screen by day. At night it becomes a highlight, illuminated by the varied activities and glow emanating form the living spaces beyond.”
