Location: Ann Street, Brisbane
Client: Metro Property Development Pty Ltd
501 Ann Street acts as an insertion into the important streetscape of Ann Street. It is proposed that the changing nature of the occupancy of the buildings and streets be recognised by an artwork embedded in the fabric of the building. An abstracted image of the late street character ‘Happy Jack’ is represented as an example of the ability of this building fabric to contribute to the story of the connection of the City to the Valley. The image will provide colour and engagement from all aspects; however, the image becomes truly clear when viewed from a due western aspect.
